About Go Katayama

Go Katayama is Principal Insight Analyst at Kpler, based in Tokyo, where he focuses on global energy markets and geopolitical trends. A native of Japan, he brings extensive bilingual (English–Japanese) experience in consulting and research across LNG, natural gas, and power sectors. Previously, Go served as an LNG fundamental analyst and power regulatory advisor at Shell, LNG and natural gas consultant at Poten & Partners, and as a researcher at the Council on Foreign Relations, United Nations Development Programme, and The New Yorker Magazine. He holds an M.S. in Global Affairs (Energy Concentration) from New York University, and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with additional coursework at Fudan University in Shanghai. His insights are frequently quoted in leading outlets such as Nikkei and Reuters. Go also serves as an Advisory Board Member for NYU’s Center for Global Affairs.
