About Godfrey Okeke

Godfrey Okeke is the Founder and CEO of Awele Technologies Inc ("Awele"). Awele is a next generation digital platform that lets exporters and importers of cars and heavy goods to plan, book, track and mange their door-to-door cross-border shipping with vetted shipping service providers. We do this by combining advanced technologies, data analytics and decades of supply chain expertise. Just like booking a flight on Expedia, Awele makes it seamless for anybody to run the entire shipping process end-to-end without any prior knowledge of the industry or contact with a service provider beforehand. You enter the origin, destination and shipment information and Awele figures out everything else in-between - available shipping options, routes, service providers, rates, customs tariffs, transit times, including first and last-mile delivery. Since 2005, Godfrey has been shipping cars and goods from Europe, China, US, Canada to Africa. In 2016, he founded a offline logistics and wholesale distribution company- shipping and customs-clearing containers from Nigeria to Canada. Vexed by the mind-boggling inefficiencies he experienced during these years, Godfrey founded Awele in 2019 to make cross-border shipping of heavy goods as easy as booking a flight online- cheaper, faster, reliable and convenient. Godfrey holds a PhD in electrical engineering from University of Alberta, Canada and spent a decade as a research scientist and post-doctoral fellow- building novel algorithms for 4G/5G communication networks. He brings these 30 years of shipping and technology expertise to Awele. Throughout his studies and work in Africa, Europe and North America, Godfrey has experienced first hand the impact of our diverse global culture in solving world's biggest problems, a cornerstone of Awele's culture.
