About Godofredo Ramizo

I completed my DPhil (PhD) at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. The question I grapple with the most is: How can people and organisations adopt algorithmic systems, platforms and AI for business value and socio-economic development? I focus on AI and technological change in critical industries such as energy, healthcare, and finance infrastructure, among others. I have done research on Artificial Intelligence projects in several governments while at Oxford, and during my time in Big Tech I helped develop some of Meta's most important enterprise-facing products. Thus, I have 8 years of experience working with tech consumers, tech companies, high-ranking government officials, and tech executives while researching the business, social and policy implications of technology, and building strategies based on such work. I won the Oxford Clarendon Scholarship, which is the most prestigious scholarship awarded by the University of Oxford, only given to the top 1.5% of Oxford's postgraduates. I am also a recipient of the Young Scholar Award of the Pacific Telecommunications Council, awarded in the US in 2022. I am now an assistant professor at EADA Business School Barcelona. Prior to this, I completed a prestigious fellowship at Nanyang Technological University, a world-leading university in Singapore, where I worked under Nanyang Business School. Thanks to a research grant worth SGD (USD I led a research group that studied the ups and downs of implementing AI and digital transformation in critical industries. My interests include digital technologies in critical industries, strategy and consumer behavior in the context of AI, and policy-making on technology and industrial development. I have years of experience in qualitative methods and training in statistical methods. In addition to university teaching, academic research, and the tech industry practice, in a past life, I have also worked in investment banking (equity derivatives) and a grassroots NGO!
