About Goffredo Giordano

Actually I am an R&D specialist in a private research institute and tech-consulting company, working on hyperspectral and spectral measurements with UAV for precision agriculture, cancerogenic and mineral fibers identification for health monitoring with UAV, and pipeline inspection robotics. Furthermore I adopt UV/VIS/NIR/MIR spectroscopy for chemometrics and object classifications in sorting industrial lines (e.g. waste management, blends identification, agrifood, etc.). I am also a scientist and inventor mainly interested in smart and soft materials, photochromic and mechanochromic small organic molecules, optoelectronic devices, optical sensing and soft robotics. I have got a Ph.D. in Biorobotics at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa and I worked at the Italian Insitute of Technology at the Bioinspired Soft Robotic group in Genoa. I patented, fabricated and characterized an electronics-free mechanochromic pressure sensor for damage-alert for minimally invasive surgical robotic systems.
