Background
About Gofran Chowdhury
I build teams, products, and partnerships that make renewable energy smarter. With 13+ years at the crossroads of energy technology, AI, and innovation leadership, I've gone from commissioning Bangladesh's first grid-connected solar plant to leading a 12-person R&D team managing innovation across 50 GW of solar, wind, and battery assets in Europe. At 3E, in 2023, I envisioned and launched the company's first BESS analytics R&D program from scratch. By 2025, it had become a commercial product. Since 2023, I have secured €6M+ in new project grants, expanding our R&D reach and embedding 3E deeper into the EU innovation ecosystem. My career spans the full innovation arc: field engineer → PhD researcher → product scientist → innovation leader. That breadth gives me something rare, the ability to speak fluently with data scientists, CFOs, regulators, and startup founders alike. What I bring: → 0→1 builder: From concept to funded R&D to commercial SaaS product → R&D portfolio leadership: Managed multi million euro R&D project, €6M won since 2023 → Technical depth: AI models, digital twins, BESS analytics, PV/wind systems → People leadership: 12 senior experts, 95+ combined years of experience → EU ecosystem: IEA PVPS Task 13, Horizon Europe, advisory boards (sustAIn.brussels, VLIR) → IP creator: EU patent holder, 4 peer-reviewed publications
