About Gomathi Sundar

I am a researcher from India with over a 10 years of experience in the capacity of a Manager in Medical Writing and Clinical Research. Research is my passion more than a job. My experience in clinical medicine (cardiology) for over 12 years coupled with research experience, instilled a desire in me to get involved in activities that make a greater impact in society. This interest naturally led me to my recent education in public health. My interests are many and include but not limited to health systems in general, health care providers, epidemiology, preventive health care, non-communicable diseases (in particular, cardiology). My skills and competencies include: • Project development and management with line management experience • Literature review, critical appraisal of research evidence • Knowledge in research designs, experience in planning & execution of research • Grant writing, budgeting for research & managing budget • Good understanding & working knowledge in data management • Knowledge of statistical methods, analysis, interpretation, & presentation of findings including graphical methods communicating findings. • Skills in coordination and collaboration with various stakeholders both internally and externally. • Quantitative analytical skills, qualitative methods and analysis. • Program evaluation skills • Good communication skills, adaptability, creativity, and passion for teaching. • Good writing skills, adaptable to write for different audiences [public to healthcare/medical researchers] and experience in writing a range of products. • Clinical experience in cardiovascular medicine • MS Office, statistical softwares such as STATA, R, Epi Info, and referencing softwares such as Mendeley, Zotero, and Endnote
