About Gopalkumar Rakesh
As a clinician-scientist, my current research comprises optimizing neuromodulation paradigms for smoking cessation and other addiction disorders. Most of my previous research encompassed experiments combining electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) with pharmacotherapy. As a postdoc, I trained in neuroimaging with the Morey Lab examining resilience.With mentoring and support, I currently spearhead a multidisciplinary research group. Our current studies combine transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) with pharmacological agents, neuroimaging and eye-tracking to treat and discover novel biomarkers for smoking cessation and other addiction disorders.
