About Goran Lalic

I studied at University of Zagreb, did bachelors in mathematics and masters in applied mathematics. During my masters, I found myself enjoying numerical analysis, numerical mathematics, data science, machine learning and programming related topics. This is why I initially started my career in a startup robotics company in Zagreb, where I wanted to use my skills. Initially I was working part-time as a student on the simulations where was developing and maintaining the whole environment mostly by using ROS, C++ and Python. When I finished my studied I moved to another full-time position in the same company where I did some R&D for multi-robot path planning and optimization. Here I learned a lot about python and C#, as well as some general software engineering skills. This position was really dynamic which was really enjoyable. However, when I got an offer from one of the world's biggest companies, ASML, I decided to test myself by going abroad to work in the Netherlands. Here I learned a lot about data analysis and requirements engineering as well as many other skills and soft-skills, from which I value learning how to collaborate with people from all over the world the most. Lately, I have been deeply interested in machine learning and deep learning as I feel that I can contribute a lot to these topics. This is why I have been taking a lot of courses about machine and deep learning lately and doing some small relatable projects.
