About Gordon Duff

I am sought out to deal with complex situations or ethical dilemmas in the municipality and community I am sincerely committed to. These requests are from my fellow staff members, councillors, committee members or within the extensive volunteer commitments I work with. Surpassing those challenges with a collaborative, solution-focused approach that lets me share my technical, financial, and legislative knowledge is a wonderful way to serve. Known for my innate talent with the technical aspects of municipal finance and the ability to connect well with diverse people led me to be recognized with the Municipal Finance Leadership award and being referred to as ‘the pulse of the community and Gord will get things done’. Working for 20 years as an independent-minded entrepreneur I have worked with all manner of people in public accounting from successful business owners our local agriculture and farming industry and ensured our more marginalized community members financial needs were met. I was incredibly proud to be hired by a past Mayor with a vision to never let our small size in Minto restrict our potential. I have used that philosophy to continue to build our community with economic development strategies locally, regionally and with the Province. I have served on several Committees and Task Forces on specific projects such as Vacancy Rebates, Legislation affecting small municipalities and Asset Management.
