GENERAL PROJECTS • Tooling design and approval. • Ordering and receiving needed parts and materials on design projects. • Assigning work out to shop personnel, from machining to final assembly. • Overseeing, and/or direct product assembly, certification, and training. • If required, doing a physical safety factor test and certification of tooling which involve any lifting, including taking photos, notes, and the design analysis (FEA) documentation. MANUFACTURING • Production floor support, resolving issues. • Assembly Procedures • Fabrication, machining, and assembly. • Skilled machinist with various machine shop equipment. • Mechanical Inspection including QC, using various inspection tools. LEAN MANUFACTURING • Which involved concept discussions, workshops, laying out ideas on paper, applying to production floor, for a more efficient manufacturing operation, using the Toyota Production System (TPS). DESIGN • Product, tooling, test fixture, and instrumentation design, both hand drafting and using various CAD products, 2D and 3D solid modeling, which includes solid modeling, parametric modeling, and iterative design, FEA (Finite Element Analysis). TECHNICAL WRITING • Writing progress reports, technical procedures, and worksheets. PROBLEM SOLVING • Liaison between shop, production, client, partner, and engineering teams, using past experience to communicate and solve on site problems. • Analytical solving skills, including both hand calculations and computer applications, including writing the computer applications themselves. TESTING • On ground and in flight, testing and certification of aircraft. • Test cell and laboratory testing (fluids, air, heat, mechanical), including mechanical, acoustical, vibration, destructive, and cycling. • Aircraft Engine certification testing, as well as testing components like seals, gearboxes, impellers. • Cyclic and destructive testing of rotating components, such as turbine impellers and rotors, in a vacuum spin pit, including composites. Static and dynamic balancing. INSTRUMENTATION • Over saw, or direct installation, of various instrumentation, including calibrations, including setting up, and operating data acquisition equipment such as TTC CDAU's (CAIS Data Acquisition and Encoding Unit). COMPUTER APLICATIONS • CATIA, SolidWorks, ENOVIA, Teamcenter, ANSYS DesignSpace, Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visio, TTCWare (TTC CDAU's (CAIS Data Acquisition and Encoding Unit)), Computer Programming (FORTRAN, BASIC)
