About Gordon Holmes

As a Career Coach at MyCareerBrand, I leverage my 20+ years of HR leadership and executive role experience to help professionals define and pursue their desired career direction and development. I have worked in corporates, consulting firms, and my own businesses across various industries and sectors, and I have lived and worked in different countries, giving me a rich and diverse perspective on the challenges and opportunities in the global workplace. I utilise carefully selected models and tools, plus insights from psychology and neuroscience, to help my clients create and execute effective job search strategies, personal branding, CV and LinkedIn optimisation, interview skills, and onboarding plans. I also help executives, partners, and business owners plan and navigate their transitions to life after full-time work. My mission is to help people pause, reflect, and plan their career and life goals, and to empower them to achieve them with confidence and clarity. My specialities are- helping people get clarity about the career direction they would like to go in and then preparing plans for achieving their career goals- helping people prepare for and secure their next great job (onboarding)- helping people successfully transition into new roles. This onboarding work increases the chances of success, accelerates coming up to speed and mitigates risks for them and their organisations; and - helping executives/partners/business owners work out what's next for them when they move away from these roles. The coaching helps plan the maximisation of life after the requirement for full-time paid work and successfully navigating the associated transitions. I am passionate about the benefits to people of pausing at any stage in their career, reflecting on what they want to achieve in life, and in the remainder of their career, and then creating plans to achieve their career and life goals.
