Highly experienced leader in the education sector with nationally and internationally recognised expertise in digital work-space and Learning Spaces innovation and proven success in education and technology management. Has successfully and repeatedly delivered outcomes in alignment with organisation’s strategic teaching and learning agenda, enhancing pedagogy at the same time as meeting student and staff needs in a changing technology environment. My experience with senior leaders across diverse and complex businesses has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience. As Director Learning Environments Technology Services (LETS) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), I was responsible for the support and enhancement of technology covering staff and student client computing, service desk, and the university’s learning spaces. Led the technology deployment in the $230 million dollar Science and Engineering Centre at QUT’s Gardens Point Campus, the technology design intent of the Education Precinct at Kelvin Grove and was instrumental in the creation of PNG-Arnet. Previous roles have been Research Fellow (UQ) for the ALTC-funded Next Generation Learning Spaces Project which investigated the nexus between pedagogy, technology, and space; Director ITS, Associate Director Client Support Services, IT Manager (MIS, Client Services), and Network Manager at ACU. Experience complemented by an MBA in technology management and a Doctorate which investigated academic adoption and use of technology. Engaged in numerous consultancies in Australia, PNG and New Zealand, and sought-after national and international speaker on Learning Spaces innovation at technology conferences.
