About Gordon Jermane

Gordon Jermane is AVP and Assistant Chief Counsel with The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company in Toronto and is certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Ontario. He maintains a highly-regarded practice in defending high profile disability and life insurance actions. His work also includes employment, human rights and agency law. He has a strong track record of successful appearances at trial and appeal. Gordon is well-known for lecturing widely to both the legal profession and to the insurance industry, having appeared at the Canadian Institute, the Ontario Bar Association, the Professional Development Program at Osgoode Hall Law School and the American Conference Institute. Gordon was called to the Ontario bar in 1995, and entered the field of insurance defence litigation following a two-year period of private practice. He is a member of the Advocates’ Society and the Defense Research Institute. In addition to authoring many papers for his lectures, Gordon has been published on numerous occasions in the prestigious Advocates' Quarterly.
