The Real Estate sector, as part of the broader Real Assets arena provides significant opportunity which requires navigating. Risk profiles range from core to opportunistic, strategies from development to a laser focus on NOI (net operating income), increasingly overlaid with operational expertise (e.g. OpCo / PropCo, Entity level investing or a Hybrid). Pan regional & country level GDP growth that is the envy of the World, a region that boasts half the World’s population across a dozen+ countries is ALL driving real estate utilization from office workers to student numbers, to the need for Digital Infrastructure & renewables. Benefitting from over 25 years of experience with the last 17 in Asia Pacific as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), I’ve been involved with Strategic Advice, Investor Relations, Capital Raising and Brokerage, with highlights including working on projects that have changed the skyline of cities, to US$1bn+ portfolio transactions & covering the “New Economy” asset classes including the much talked about Data Centre & Living sectors. In my capacity as Head of Asia Pacific Capital Markets I interact Globally on the flow of Capital (Inter & Intra Regional), and support teams across the region serve our clients which range from Pension & Insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds (SWF’s), Limited partners (LP’s), fund managers (GP’s), family offices & high net worth individuals.
