About Gordon van Wijk

Growing up on the Dutch lakes as a boy, it was clear to me that I would pursue a career in the boating industry.I learnt the fundamentals of boat maintenance and repair on local small shipyards and ports from early age. Holland soon became too small, and adventure was sought and found in the yachting business as a crew-member onboard a 35 mtr megayacht.Based in Fort Lauderdale we sailed the Caribbean waters and soon I was hooked for life!Over 25 years later I still am!Wanting to be shore-based after years at sea I eventually started my own refit & repair and management company United Yacht Services in 2008.Based in Antibesd, South of France we catered for any clients needs, either being a 8 mtr tender or for the 80 mtr yacht. We gained a strong base of happy clientele, who spreak the word onwards to the yards the yachts were built. This gave up the opportunity to work for yards as Feadship, Amels, Abeking & Rasmussen etc.Now 20 years on, we have developed this company in a succesfull player in the maintenance, charter, brokerage and management fields of international yachting.
