About Gordon White

Masters educated brewer/distiller from Scotland, currently based in Bali, Indonesia. Currently open to re-locating to find the right long-term position with the right company. Looking for brewing and/or distilling positions in Asia, SE Asia and UK but would be excited to hear dialogue from anywhere else in the world. Over the last three years in Bali, I have led a large team in a brewing and distilling environment where I have fixed long-standing production problems in the brewery whilst introducing new and exciting products to the market. In the distillery, I have been working towards producing one of the first single malt whiskies in Indonesia. Using a variety of experimental and innovative techniques and benefiting from the Balinese climate, I feel we have produced a remarkable spirit which will be introduced to an export market in 2026. I was delghted to share my tropical whisky production experiences with industry colleagues in 2025 when I was invited to present at the DistillAsia conference in Bangkok, Thailand. I am also producing several brands for numerous contract companies producing beer and spirits at our facility under license for the domestic market. I obtained my Masters degree in Brewing & Distilling from Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh 2014 and since graduation I initially worked in the maltings industry before moving into craft brewing and distilling. I progressed my career with a move to Hong Kong in 2020 before making the switch to Bali, Indonesia. My career has been an adventure and I am looking forward to applying my passion and enthusiasm for my next project, wherever that may be.
