I am deeply committed to advocating for the rights of refugees, asylees, and victims of human trafficking. With over 15 years of experience in humanitarian and social services, I have supported and empowered displaced populations through collaborative efforts with nonprofits, international NGOs, and UN agencies. My work has directly contributed to the successful resettlement of more than refugees from diverse backgrounds across the U.S, giving me rich cross-cultural experience and operational expertise. I excel in leading high-performing teams with a focus on equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care. I have managed teams of 50+ professionals and overseen public and private contracts valued at over $10 million, bringing strategic skill in budget management, contract oversight, and stakeholder engagement. My strengths include designing and implementing programs in refugee resettlement, employment services, career pathways, extended case management, and employer engagement. Beyond professional roles, I bring strong community-based volunteer experience, having led and participated in grassroots peace initiatives, school rehabilitation programs, environmental cleanups, and health outreach efforts in drought- and conflict-affected communities in southern Somalia. These efforts involved collaboration with local leaders, youth groups, and humanitarian partners to promote social cohesion, enhance educational access, support public health, and strengthen community resilience. I hold advanced degrees in International Relations, Organizational Leadership, and Business Management, alongside certifications in International Refugee Law, Humanitarian Response, and Project Management. These academic and professional foundations inform my strategic yet compassionate approach to problem-solving and leadership. My mission is to advance sustainable, rights-based solutions that empower vulnerable populations and promote inclusive development.
