About Gourango Pradhan

Highly motivated and focused research person with a proven track record. I received a fellowship from Dept of Biotechnology, Govt. of India to pursue master degree in Biotechnology (2007). Same year I awarded with TATA Millennium Excellence award for accomplishing extraordinary skill test for graduate students conducted by TATA group. I completed my Ph.D work (March 2018) in the field of Infection biology and immunology under the supervision of Dr. Sangita Mukhopadhyay, staff scientist-VI, CDFD, Hyderabad, India. During my Ph.D, I worked with M. tuberculosis secretory protein PknG and its role in phagosome lysosome fusion and acquired a very good experience on Infection biology, molecular cell biology and immunology. Part of my PhD work was published in the reputed international journals like Journal of Immunology, and Plos one. This work was fittingly recognized by the Indian Immunological Society and I was awarded with GP Talwar young scientist award for the year 2015. I was also engaged in writing review articles that were published in reputed international journals. I received fellowship from Kempe foundation (Jan 2019- Dec 2021) to pursue postdoctoral research in Umea University (Umea, Sweden). During my postdoc I worked in DNA damage and its role in cancer progression and learned some new emerging techniques in the field of DNA damage and response pathways. Seeking a position to utilise my skills as a researcher for the betterment of organisation I work that may lead me and my organisation to the next level.
