About Grace Barada

I have had a passionate interest in STEM fields from a very young age. In high school, I was do captain of the robotic team and that sparked my interest in engineering and applied mathematics. I studied for 3 years a Marquette University studying mechanical engineering before deciding to transfer in early 2019. From January 2019 to January 2022, while taking online courses in Engineering, math and child development, I worked at Menlo School as a Preschool teacher, developing many invaluable skills such as leadership, time management and how to adapt to a new plan at a moments notice. Working with children has definitely taught me to think quickly on my feet and how best to communicate with others who might not always want to listen! In January 2022, I transferred to the University of Arizona, where I am expected to graduate in May 2024 with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. In the spring semester of 2022, I made the Dean’s List with a GPA of 3.733. More recently, I have learned both C++ as well as Python and have been preparing myself to take the first two actuarial exams by June 2024. Outside of work and school, I m a dedicated self taught musician and artist. I have dedicated the past decade to furthering my musical skills by teaching myself to play several instruments such as the ukulele, guitar, piano, banjo and mandolin in order to expand my knowledge of both music and myself as a student. I hope to continue to use my strong self-discipline and commitment to help further myself in both my career and personal life.
