About Grace Bassey

My name is Grace Bassey, and I am an aspiring Bioengineering: Biotechnology major with diverse experience in the BioTech and BioMedical fields. I have developed and optimized ELISA-based assays for lipid nanoparticles at Seawolf Therapeutics, Inc, gaining insights into complement activation and immunogenicity. At Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, I contributed to the Kawasaki Research Project, and at DIFF Medical Center, I observed reproductive procedures, including egg and sperm extraction.In my leadership roles, I was a Sub-leader for the Ethics Panel in the UC San Diego Biomedical Engineering Society, where I explored and addressed ethical issues in biomedical engineering. As Vice President of the UC San Diego Nigerian Student Association, I oversee operations and support the association’s initiatives. I also mentored transfer students as an Engineering Transfer Prep Leader at UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering and engage prospective students as a Campus Ambassador. My skills include leadership, mentorship, public speaking, event coordination, and data analysis. I am dedicated to advancing and discovering new fields in BioTech and making impactful contributions to my community as a whole.
