About Grace Carlson

Hi! I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, double majoring in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies with a Certificate in Environmental Studies. My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in developmental psychology, family dynamics, and environmental factors influencing health and well-being. Through diverse roles, including as a research assistant in music psychology, an administrative assistant at Northwoods Haven rehabilitation center, and a digital communications intern at Compass Group, I’ve developed skills in data analysis, communication, and client-centered care. These experiences, along with my hands-on roles as a child care assistant in the Mound Westonka School District and a host and expo at Belair Cantina, have honed my ability to build rapport, communicate effectively, and contribute positively to team environments. I am also deeply passionate about applying my skills in real-world settings that support growth and healing. For example, my role as a music psychology research assistant allowed me to work closely with neurodivergent participants, helping them engage meaningfully in therapeutic music sessions. This experience, combined with my work with children and my commitment to compassionate care, has been pivotal in guiding my interest in occupational therapy. I am currently seeking internship opportunities where I can further develop my skills in client-focused care, therapeutic settings, and strategic planning. I look forward to bringing my strong organizational abilities, empathy, and dedication to a team that values holistic and client-centered approaches.
