About Grace Chitson

Born and raised in Dorset in a tight-knit family, I discovered a passion for languages at a young age. I developed interests in music, horses, and acting. In school I discovered an aptitude for Spanish which I nurtured for five years before taking up a place at Aston University in October 2010 to read French and Spanish. During my gap year, I worked in Dorchester as a waitress and quickly rose to become the head waitress/front of house manager before using my savings to travel to Barcelona and explore the works of Gaudí before commencing university. There I completed my studies and gained my BSc (Hons) degree. At university, I enjoyed a variety of activities and took a particularly active interest in the Pool & Snooker Club. I went on to become Treasurer of the Club for 2 years and received full sporting colours for my service to the club in March 2014. In amongst this, I took up a summer job as a waitress in Weymouth to save up money to help pay for my education. As part of my degree, in 2012 I moved to Paris for a 9 month stint of living and working there as an English Language Assistant in a Parisian "collège" known for taking on new foreign students with little or no knowledge of the French language, not to mention English. Later in 2013, I moved back to university in Birmingham to complete my degree and graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor's degree. Since then, I moved back to Dorset and began forging my career, building on the transferable skills which I have accumulated. This has lead to a new venture as a telemarketer, speaking with decision makers from companies across the globe, thus encompassing my language skills. In addition to this role, I also work as the Administrator for Weymouth Pianos Ltd, a well-established, family-run piano tuning, sales, and services company.
