As long as I can remember, I wanted to work with people – and now I get the chance to live that dream at Law Squared. In my role, I am embedded in helping innovative businesses achieve the best workplace for themselves and their employees. As an Employment + Workplace Relations lawyer at Law Squared, I love to understand all facets of a business which enables me to support, advise and guide employers on the employment law and HR lifecycle, and become a trusted advisor and true partner to their Executive and People & Culture teams. Since joining Law Squared in 2018, I have transitioned from Legal Project Officer to becoming a Lawyer in the Employment + Workplace Relations team in 2019. From working on legal technology products to running enterprise bargaining negotiations, and being a leader by example in our own business, I have a diverse skill set led by my passion for: 1. Tech-focused innovation: I’ve worked on legal technology projects and taken responsibility for key aspects of the management of these projects to make them what they are today. Taking up the opportunity to be involved in Cubed by Law Squared and Employment by Law Squared has given me a unique and innovative focus - through a human centred lens - into how we can increase efficiencies and access to legal support for non-profit, SMEs and high-growth businesses. Knowledge empowerment: I have a wealth of experience – from bitter disputes with employees who ‘want their day in court’ through to tricky and sticky situations that employers have gotten themselves into - and know what best practice looks like here. I have been able to provide a proactive approach to the provision of legal services assisting my clients in understanding their legal rights and obligations. Working with clients, not for them: Many lawyers in my position couldn’t confidently say they have had much interaction with clients, let alone become their go-to person and trusted advisor for legals. Thanks to the Law Squared philosophy of empowering lawyers of all levels of experience to foster and grow relationships as well as take accountability for this, I have grown so much personally and professional in my journey, and fostered strong and collaborate relationships with decision makers iin some amazing organisations.
