IntroductionI'm a recent Virginia Tech grad with degrees in Business Management (Entrepreneurship) and Corporate Finance. I’m originally from Northern Virginia but somehow ended up a country girl at heart, hence the decision to attend college in southwestern Virginia. On campus, I was involved in the Eventing Team (a club equestrian team), Collegiate Women in Business Club, the Virginia Tech Equine Volunteer Program and Young Life. I spent my first two years of college as a Staff Writer for the CWIB Chronicles.Career InterestsMy passions are mixed as I enjoy being creative as well as hard facts and numbers. I hope to find a career that is a mix of crunching numbers, detail work, collaborating with others and making a meaningful impact. While I love to work independently, I also find joy in working with or leading a team to success on projects. I have real-world experience managing a coffee shop which required me to lead a team, handle logistics, as well as manage being a student at the same time. Personal Interests I began my personal blog freshman year of high school and years later, I still enjoy writing about what I’m learning in life at the present moment. It’s a creative outlet that has grown with me through many stages of life, and I hope it will continue for many more years. I’ve ridden horses since I was twelve which has quite literally taught me how to get up after a fall. I owe a lot of my character building to the freezing dark January nights at the barn putting my horse out in the field. In addition to riding horses, I volunteered at a therapeutic riding center for many years and assisted with riding lessons for kids with disabilities there. It was a true joy to watch these kids grow in riding abilities and confidence over the years. I’m very passionate about helping and including individuals with special needs and have learned so much over my years working with people who think and learn differently than I do.
