About Grace Hamilton

Hello! I'm Grace, a recent University of Iowa graduate earning bachelor’s degrees in English and secondary English education. In the first year and a half of my undergraduate career, I worked at The Daily Iowan and The Spencer Daily Reporter. Throughout both roles, I gained experience interviewing article sources, channeling complex information into engaging written content, optimizing content for increased social media/web engagement, and managing promotional writing projects. My passion for working with others and discussing writing led me to pursue my secondary English/ Language Arts teaching license. I then shifted my focus to teaching and social work, completing over 100 hours of classroom field experience while working in community outreach roles. My work in these fields taught me how to identify when to shift my messaging to improve desired outcomes. It also prepared me to swiftly adjust my oral and written communication to suit ever-evolving goals and stakeholders. Having spent the latter part of my dual degree program prioritizing teaching, I want to continue building on my previous experience in communications. I am seeking job opportunities where I can harness my strengths in research, writing, copyediting, digital content production, and collaboration. From developing news content to providing secondary writing instruction, my range of experience has prepared me to be a well-rounded candidate.
