About Grace Jefferies

8 years of experience as a research assistant (including during COVID!), and 10 years of man-handling Drosophila. Safe to say I know my way around a lab! My previous lab experiences include when I was a part-time lab assistant whilst in my first year of uni, followed by volunteering in my first fly lab in my third year of uni, over the mid-semester break and throughout my last semester. I followed this up with a merit-based summer scholarship and did some work with yeast, proving I wasn't a one-trick pony! I found myself back to working on a fly-based project for my postgraduate studies, and seeking out my first research assistant role before my thesis was even submitted! Never fear - my skill-set is not just restricted to fly work. I can help manage a lab like nobody's business and take great pride in making the lab environment a place people want to be.
