Background
About Grace Lim
Physician-scientist, academic and clinical leader with expertise in clinical anesthesiology, women’s health, and perioperative medicine, experienced in leading a division of over 160 faculty, fellows, residents, anesthetists, trainees, technicians, and researchers. Track record of proven success over 12 years in clinical operations, mentorship, faculty development, research and innovation, and quality & systems improvement across academic medical centers, regional community hospitals, and healthcare industry. As an interdisciplinary researcher and clinical leader, I have led strategic initiatives in maternal and infant health, anesthetic optimization, and acute care innovation, including securing over $4m in grants for program growth. My leadership and institutional experiences at Northwestern University, the University of Pittsburgh, and UPMC allowed me to successfully drive organizational growth, collaborative team-building, and evidence-based clinical advancements. Passionate about advancing patient-centered care, research innovation, and multidisciplinary team excellence to enhance clinical care in all areas, and specifically maternal and neonatal outcomes. Will continue to apply executive leadership, strategic planning, and healthcare transformation expertise to further impact academic anesthesiology and perioperative medicine. My clinical and translational research work is focused on improving women's health outcomes in vulnerable & special populations. Current work is focused on: 1) identifying innovative and personalized perinatal therapies in patients with mental health conditions, focusing on depression and substance use disorder; 2) medication safety in pregnancy and lactation; 3) alleviating pain and suffering in special populations. Our work has resulted in clinical care transformations for acute care medicine, pain management, and health care services.
