About Grace Marsh

I am training to be a primary teacher and I am in my third and final year at University of Reading. I have been on two placements so far and worked with children from various key stages and have worked alongside teachers to develop the professional development and skills I need to start my teaching career in September. I am particularly passionate about developing my own teaching behaviours and learning to effectively use Rosenshines Principles of instruction as part of my teaching practice and how they benefit the children’s learning and development. I have also accumulated four years of valuable retail experience alongside my time at uni, starting with three years as a retail assistant at Primark. In this role, I honed my customer service skills, learned effective inventory management, and developed a keen eye for merchandising. I consistently met sales targets and received positive feedback for my ability to engage with customers, ensuring they had a pleasant shopping experience. After Primark, I joined at the Windsor Farm Shop, where I have been for a year so far and further expanded my skills in a different retail environment. Here, I focused on promoting local products and enhancing customer relationships. My commitment to teamwork and a strong work ethic contributed to an increase in repeat customers during my tenure. In addition to my retail experience, I am passionate about rugby. I have achieved notable success in the local university leagues, demonstrating leadership on the field and teamwork off it. Balancing my studies as a third-year university student with my work and sports commitments has taught me valuable time management and organizational skills. This combination of retail experience and athletic dedication has shaped my ability to thrive in dynamic environments and tackle challenges head-on.
