About Grace McCormick

I'm a multimedia business reporter with passions for enterprise storytelling, data analysis, newsletters and solutions journalism. At Columbus Business First, I lead research for our weekly industry ranking lists, write data-driven stories, produce a weekly housing series and collaborate with reporters across American City Business Journals on best practices. Previously at Richland Source, I co-led the award-winning Tomorrow's Talent series on workforce challenges in North Central Ohio. That led to me co-managing the Beyond the Chip reporting project exploring Intel's expected effects on Knox County — which included a field visit to Oregon. I earned the honor of a 2025 LION Award for the Tomorrow's Talent project and was a 2025 Xana fellow at the annual Society for Advanced Business Editing and Writing (SABEW) conference. I have a journalism and telecommunications degree from Ball State University, where I also minored in economics and was on the university's speech team. I won multiple state and national awards for news and feature writing as a student. I hope to specialize in economic policy reporting later in my career.
