About Grace McKee

One of the best decisions I have made in my life was to join my family business McKee Homes Ltd. In May of 1993. I had finished diplomas in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from SAIT in 1992 and had attended one year in Aerospace Engineering in Carleton University in Ottawa when I decided I just wanted to be back home and close to my family. Having an engineering background made for a natural transition to me for roles in design and estimating in our company. My Dad died in 2006 so my sister Elaine and brother in law Rob and myself have run the company ever since. Together we still continue to make the senior management decisions which I really enjoy. I do still oversee on a day to day basis our quoting, designs and home profitability as a general scope. The education in my role initially came from my Dad and generally from having worked over 30 years in the industry. I have taken many courses throughout my time in management and construction but most of my knowledge is learned in the roles I have held. My nephew Ryan finished a double degree from University of Calgary a few years ago and joined our company. He is our sales and marketing manager now. My children Sophia and Sam are a little younger but work during summers when they are not at school. As a family, I am always so happy how we can work together. I am proud of our team at McKee Homes. We have a team who cares about the homes we build and the clients we build for. McKee Homes Ltd. Has been building homes for over 35 years now!
