Background
About Grace Mittl
I’m a 2022 graduate of the University of Richmond, where I studied business analytics and marketing and competed on the track and field team as a long jumper.I’m deeply passionate about the CPG industry and the communities that form around great food and thoughtful brands. That passion, paired with a love of innovation and cooking, led me to co-found Absurd Snacks. We make ridiculously delicious, munchy, crunchy snacks that are inclusive of people with one or more of the top nine food allergies and sensitivities. Our mission is simple: food allergies shouldn’t get in the way of great snacking. Absurd Snacks has been recognized as “Captains of Crunch” by Richmond Magazine, Best Savory Snack by Startup CPG, and Best Marketing & Brand Story by DC Startup Week. You can find Absurd Snacks in select Whole Foods Market locations across the Mid-Atlantic, on Amazon Prime, and at absurdsnacks.com-My professional background spans CPG, fundraising, and food entrepreneurship, with a throughline of building meaningful brands alongside strong, creative women.I began my career in NYC working in SEM with a talented, high-performing team, which served as my introduction to the world of consumer packaged goods and brand growth at scale. My foundation in sales and storytelling was shaped through collaborative fundraising work on the “Raise the Barn” initiative, where we led donor outreach and developed a donor memorandum to support the construction of a new, safe barn for the Richmond Mounted Police Force.I later leaned fully into my creative and culinary side by working with Fat Rabbit Cakes, a female-owned, single-founder bakery operating out of a ghost kitchen. There, I helped bring beautifully designed, thoughtfully crafted desserts to life for weddings, celebrations, and everyday moments, while supporting the brand’s growth into a successful brick-and-mortar bakery.
