About Grace Ong

My purpose is to help ambitious, high-potential individuals and teams find their own way to thrive by living and working authentically. I am a strong believer in values-driven behaviour as a compass for how we show up and make decisions. Leaders like this are powerful. They are what society and businesses need; creating trust, inspiration and transformation. I believe we are caught between worlds. In one world, employees who are driven to succeed must make serious sacrifices – values, personal lives, health. In the other, genuine value is placed on the uniqueness of the individual. Here, authenticity, doing-the-right-thing and well-being are seen as critical to success. I connect with both of these worlds. I have committed decades to the stereotypical experience of career; latterly taking a fresh path. That does not mean I have abandoned my commitment to excellence or advancement. But I see now these things do not need to come at vast costs. How do new or emerging leaders find their way? Who are their thought partners? Where can they explore their conflicts, authenticity and purpose without fear or judgment? I set up Go Thrive to support these new generations. Bringing my own balance of judgement, empathy, skill and experience to help individuals and teams thrive. There is no single defining moment which led me to create Go Thrive. However, seeing the bonus and promotion I had worked hard for put ‘on hold’ after my maternity leave played a significant part. My 18-year career in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, and latterly as an Executive Coach is punctuated with moments of difficulty and growth. I’ve been the “only person” in many situations – only woman, only non-white, only non-skier, only person entering private education, having been state educated in a developing country. I bring this experience, my authentic self, my innate empathy and over hours as an Executive Coach to support you – and your team – to achieve personal and career transformation.
