About Grace Purcell

I am a UW-Madison alum with a double major in Biology and Human Development & Family Studies with a certificate in Disability Rights & Services. I have always been passionate about healthcare and helping others. For me, a career in the business sector of healthcare is a perfect combination of these two passions.To start my career in the medical field, I worked at UnityPoint Health - Meriter Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This position granted me first-hand experience in the professional world of healthcare. As a CNA, I worked quite closely with my patients as I assisted in activities of daily living. I take pride in providing care that preserved my patients' dignity. In sum, this position validated my passions and ambitions to work in the healthcare system.As previously mentioned, I pursued a certificate in Disability Rights & Services to sustain my passion for diversity and inclusion. As an ally, I am continually educating myself on the experiences of others that are different from my own. In doing so, I am continually learning about the actions that I can take to promote change while also educating others. With that being said, diversity and inclusion is a vital aspect of what I want to represent in my professional healthcare career.
