About Grace Ribeiro

My name is Grace, and I am a queer, neurodivergent settler of Portuguese, Scottish and Swedish heritage, living and working with gratitude and humility on the traditional territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ and Lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples. A recent Bachelor of Arts graduate with Honours in Sociology and Gender Studies Minor at the University of Victoria, I am a student and young professional who is passionate about community engagement and care, social justice, harm reduction, and anti-oppressive practices and education. Leading from a heart-centered place, my work and education prioritizes connection, compassion, understanding, and mutual exchange of knowledges. Through my experience in communications, coordination, community programming, event organization, and facilitation in the non-profit sector, I have been able to utilize my passion for education and desire to connect in meaningful way to positively affect my local community and form deep relationships within it. It is my hope that I can continue to lovingly serve my local community in the ways I feel called to, working with organizations that share my values and grand visions of change to create a more equitable, supportive, caring, and community-orientated world for all.
