About Grace Ryan

I’m a policy professional and researcher in my second year as a Master of Public Policy student at Duke University. I bring a collaborative, data-driven, and systems-level approach to community development challenges, specializing in the intersection of climate risk and economic policy. I focus on building tangible solutions combining economic analysis and modeling with community engagement and stakeholder research to understand how environmental risks—like flooding, infrastructure vulnerabilities, and climate-driven insurance changes—create economic costs and shape development decisions. Currently, I serve as a Summer Policy Analyst with the Consumer Bankers Association, where I analyze household financial data using Stata and conduct policy research on consumer lending markets. My academic research has explored climate-driven shifts in property insurance markets and analysis of renewable energy infrastructure that supported statewide economic development planning. Previously, as a Project Manager at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, I supported research initiatives focused on housing affordability, labor market institutions, and community development policy. I strive for opportunities where I can center people and communities in research and development, and seek roles that blend thought leadership, data-driven storytelling, policy strategy, and partnership.
