About Grace Xin

In a way, we are all travelers on the journey of life. I first traveled to Canada as an international student to pursue my MBA in Ottawa. Like all newcomers, whether bold or reserved, excitement, surprises, disappointments, and gratitude as part of my journey. Over the years, through my tourism work, I traveled across Canada, from coast to coast to coast. Whether it was watching the northern lights in White Horse, walking the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park, or standing in front of the old Hudson’s Bay Company cabin in Iqaluit, the beauty of our country never ceased to take my breath away, and expand my horizons. I have learned that every trip is unique, and none lasts forever. Ultimately, what matters are the people we travel with and encounter, the richness of diverse cultures, and the footprints we leave behind. I am grateful for the opportunities life has given to me, including leading and completing the once-in-a-lifetime project of building the stunning Ottawa Chinatown Gateway, working with/for the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) for ten incredible years, and now leading the Philanthropic Services & Community Building team at the Ottawa Community Foundation (OCF). As a premier destination of generosity in Canada's capital region, the OCF has provided over $200 million in grants to the charitable sector since its inception in 1987. Today, with knowledge in gift-planning strategies and executing complex gifts through efficient giving vehicles, I am dedicated to working with generous souls to create tangible impacts and find lasting meaning on and beyond their life journeys.
