About Graceleen Simpson

My background as a graphic designer began with my interest for fine art many years ago. I fell in love with the very nature and process of creativity, the way you can turn a blank canvas into a work of art using a variety of tools and resources at hand. I am able to shape how the viewer interprets my art and become an influence to their perspective. That is what meaningful, well thought out design does - it creates experiences that empower and inspire others to action. I aspire to be an active contributor to that process. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University with a Minor in Publishing. My background in visual arts, now merged with my post-secondary education in graphic design, influences my creative process towards designing enriching user experiences and visual communications for digital and print environments. In my 10+ years of a unique mix of customer service and design experience, I have learned to find excitement and joy in collaborating with others to solve problems because I always get to learn something new. In my spare time, you will find me browsing Pinterest for the latest Ikea hacks, visiting local nurseries to pick up another plant, or compiling a never-ending bucket list of places to travel to. Coffee pretty much runs through my veins and I can probably visualize a meme and/or pun in any situation.
