About Graeme Benjamin

I believe strong communication starts with a good story. A clear, well-told message builds trust and connection. That’s what drives my work. I developed this foundation at the University of King’s College, where I earned a Bachelor of Journalism (Honours) and learned to approach complex topics with clarity, curiosity, and care. That experience led me into the newsroom, where I spent nearly a decade reporting for Canada’s top networks, including CTV Atlantic and Global News. As an on-air journalist, I covered everything from national breaking stories to local community features, always with a focus on making information accessible and engaging. It was in these moments, connecting with audiences through storytelling, that I found my professional direction. Today, I work as a Council Communications Specialist at Halifax Regional Municipality. I support elected officials in communicating with the public through clear messaging, thoughtful content, and strategic planning. I also draw on my media background to help bridge the gap between government and the people it serves. Born and raised just outside Halifax, I’ve always been proud to call Nova Scotia home.
