About Graeme Smith

I’m a national radio broadcaster, Executive Producer and broadcast creative with over 25 years in UK media—BBC, Global, Bauer, News UK and currently host the 7–10pm weeknight show on national music and entertainment station Virgin Radio UK. Founder of 7th Planet Media, a multi-award-winning indie production company creating standout podcasts, broadcast radio, and social video for clients like News UK, Coca Cola and Tesco. My podcast projects have reached millions, with standout success stories including OUTCAST WORLD—a bold, unapologetically queer podcast that won Gold for Best New Podcast at the British Podcast Awards 2022, and received multiple ARIA nominations, including Best Independent Podcast and Best Creative or Technical Innovation for its weekly joint radio edition for Virgin Radio UK and nominated best interview podcast at the 2025 British Podcast Awards alongside The News Agents, Louis Theroux and the Daily Mail. As Executive Producer, I also launched the BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! Podcast in May 2025, which debuted at No. 1 in the UK Arts Podcast Chart and continues to rank in the top 5 for Visual Arts across the UK, US and many international markets. I also had the privilege of curating and executive producing one of the UK’s most recognised LGBTQ+ broadcast projects - Virgin Radio Pride’s 2024 season, nominated for a National Diversity Award, with original programming nominated by the 2025 ARIAS in multiple categories including a documentary I executive produced called “reclaiming influence” being shortlisted for “best single factual programme”.
