Started in the oil & gas industry 1988 for Ellton Inspection ( Non - destructive testing ) Worked on various sites Tilbury docks, Lindsey Oil Refinery, Porvoir ltd Kings Lynn. Early 90s worked on shutdown / turnaround contracts on Lindsey oil refinery & Conoco Mid 90s worked on Ciba - Geigy pharmaceuticals on the build of building 110. Worked on the construction of the Tencel plant at Courtaulds ltd. Fenners injection moulders Hull then Maerdy, Wales for heavy machinery removals & Installation Worked on Exxon Mobil oil refinery in Holland for a short contract of non destructive testing. Worked on Keadby power station build of gas fired power station Insulation Worked on Killinghome b power station build gas fired power station, Industrial roofing & cladding Worked on Lindsey oil refinery as lifting equipment controller & health & safety advisor 5 years Studied Swedish language at komvux college skelleftea, Sweden In 2010 my life changed through an illness that paralysed me from the neck down so was out of action for nearly three years with intensive therapy learning how to walk & move again so I do know the implications of disabilities first hand physically financially & mentally. Ran my own landscaping business for 8 years Worked in the renewables sector installation of solar panels. Worked on a Turnaroud on Phillips 66/ Conoco as health & safety advisor, nightshift. Studied mental health first aid & advocacy in the workplace Worked freelance as Regional health & safety advisor. across all sectors. I had the honour of collecting a Gold RoSPA award on behalf of Motherwell bridge services a great achievement for the company & employees.2001 Currently working at IRISNDT as health and safety advisor
