About Graham Cawley

I commenced work in the Automotive Industry in 1991. I became a tradesman in1996 and started managing an automotive repair business in for a period of 5 years. Having the drive for something more, I started an Automotive Mechanical Repair business that offered services and repairs to light and heavy vehicles, fixed and mobile plant and equipment. The business offered both a mobile service unit and a fully serviced workshop. The business proved successful and was sold late in 2010, before commencing employment with the WA Police. Putting all that experience and skills to good use as a Vehicle Investigator within the Vehicle Investigation Unit WA Police was very rewarding. In 2012 I joined the MTA WA to manage a Mentoring Program for the MTA WA which was funded by the Federal Government and run in all states. The program focused on young workers in the automotive sector. During this time, I developed a short automotive program for Indigenous youth at risk and of interest to the WA Police, in an effort to reduce crime, encourage them to finish school and consider a career in the automotive industry. The program exceeded KPIs and was extended for 6 months in WA only. Working for the MTA WA as a Senior Division Manager is an exciting and diverse role that is never boring. I oversee a team that includes Division Managers, the Business Development Manager and Membership. Working with my team and reporting directly to the MTA WA Group CEO I ensure our members concerns are tabled and addressed. My job is all about stakeholder engagement, Government relationships, and a practical, common-sense approach to finding solutions.
