Skilled in strategy, negotiation, contract management and implementation, I draw upon my 20+ years’ experience in corporate settings, legal private practice, in-house and public sector roles in Australia and overseas. As Commercial Manager - Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), I am responsible for the development, implementation and management of commercial and risk strategies for the upstream contracts for this large and complex project. The QTMP will generate revenue to Downer of approximately $4.6 billion, for which Downer will- Design, manufacture and commission 65 six-car passenger trains, which will be manufactured in Queensland - Design and build two training simulators - Design, construct and commission the purpose-built train manufacturing facility at Torbanlea, in the Fraser Coast region - Design, construct and commission the rail facility (for maintenance and stabling) at Ormeau, in the Gold Coast region - Maintain the new rollingstock fleet, simulators and the Ormeau maintenance facility for an initial term of 15 years and a maximum term of up to 35 years. Construction of the manufacturing and maintenance facilities commenced in 2023, with all trains expected to be in passenger service by 2032 to support the Cross River Rail and the Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. This legacy project for Queensland will deliver a huge boost to local manufacturing, supply chains and jobs for the community, including 1300 jobs for Queenslanders during construction and operation.
