About Grant Barnard

Hey, I’m Grant — a Creative Front-End Developer and UX Designer based in Cape Town, South Africa. With over a decade of experience across agencies, startups, and enterprise platforms, I specialize in building fast, scalable, and beautiful digital experiences. I work across the stack, but my true passion lies in crafting seamless user interfaces powered by modern front-end frameworks like Vue.js, or building custom WordPress themes with Roots Sage. I’ve led front-end builds for platforms like Makosi Luna, created reusable design systems for casino platforms, and mentored junior developers in everything from SCSS to jQuery. Whether it's a custom WooCommerce store, a Laravel-based dashboard, or a fully responsive landing page — I deliver solutions that don’t just look good, but work beautifully. When I’m not coding, I’m probably designing, tinkering with side projects like Refocus (a productivity tool for ADHD minds), or writing about the war between distraction and creativity. Let’s build something great together.
