Fighting aggressively in court, in commercial negotiations & before various tribunals (including ASIC, FWA and in wide-ranging matters. I work closely with clients seeking generational /successional change in their businesses, ensure a level playing field when ownership minorities are threatened /oppressed, and addressing /resolving hostile ownership settings. Much the same as this is also done in estate work where family, business & relationship conflicts abound. I hose these down and ensure that the estate's interests are preserved, maintained and resolved (if acting for the executors), or that estates are purged (where we are challenging claims to estates, particularly where business interests are owned but not properly shared out). In finance, recovery and liquidation matters, I work hard in resolving creditor and debtor claims and disputes. I know what buttons to push, how to resolve and ensure compliance with any agreed resolutions. Failing this, we see them in court, and then wind them up (not our preference, but clearly the outcome in mind absent comemrcial resolutions not being achieved). In family law, the matters are quite simple - if assets have been hidden or not disclosed, I will track them down, find them and recover them. Too few lawyers truly understand business, something which my background in accounting/ finance clearly helps me with. Just as it also has in arranging, negotiating, and documenting business sales /acquisitions, equity shifts and asset changes. A new and emerging interest has been in acting for mid-sized employers in wide-ranging disputes and issues to ensure fair dealing, retraction of any union strong arming, and securing solutions that work, build a future and maintain a presence. I'm not interested in union intimidation. Mine is a level playing field, whether the unions want it or not.
