After university and an enjoyable stint in media, I made the decision to return to our independent, family‑owned insurance business. It’s something I don’t take for granted. There’s a real satisfaction in starting the day knowing that the work we do strengthens a business built over generations and helps clients protect the things that matter most to them.I’m now Managing Director of The Plan Group, an award‑winning independent brokerage focused on commercial risk, future mobility, and lifestyle & leisure. Across each of these areas, my goal is simple: to make insurance work better — clearer advice, smarter solutions, and fewer compromises for clients whose risks don’t fit neatly into standard boxes.We operate through four specialist brands, each designed to do one thing well:Plan Insurance Brokers – independent advice across commercial and specialist insurance riskseavi – focused on emerging and future mobility risksPedal Cover – specialist home insurance provider for cyclistsYellow Jersey – established over 12 years ago and now a leading name in high‑value cycle insurance as well as sports travel insuanceYellow Jersey began as a family project driven by my brothers’ and my shared love of cycling. Building a specialist product and brand from the ground up was challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and I’m proud that it has grown into something the cycling community truly values. Over cyclists now trust us to offer quality protection each year.As an independent commercial insurance brokerage (a rare breed these days), we’re able to take a long‑term view. We invest in expertise, back specialist markets, and focus on relationships rather than volume. I’m particularly interested in how insurance must continue to adapt to changing behaviours, technology and sustainability pressures, and how brokers can play an intelligent role in that evolution whilst ensuring better client outcomes remain a priority.
