About Grant Salvage

My primary focus as lead pharmacist and independent prescriber is within the Chichester locality acute inpatient and urgent care services, including the inpatient acute psychiatric ward and the crisis resolution and home treatment team. My main interest is in supporting individual patient care by working directly with patients and clinicians to identify and develop bespoke individualised but evidence based treatment regimens with the aim of helping to resolve the cause of acute crisis or hospital admission, reduce or prevent recurrence, and thus support future longer term care in the community and work towards recovery. To support this aim I also now practice as an independent prescriber supporting individuals with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma and stress related disorders, and complex emotional needs. I also have experience of prescribing for treatment of ADHD, and adjustments to prescribing in the context of autism spectrum conditions. I have significant experience in the management of treatment resistant schizophrenia including appropriate use of clozapine and other alternative complex regimens. My role also includes other clinical pharmacist support for the locality secure and forensic inpatient services, inpatient mental health rehabilitation services, mental health liaison services, and ad-hoc support to forensic outreach and liaison services and inpatient and outpatient learning disability services.
