About Grant Scott

Grant is an architect, registered in the state of New York, and holds a Post Professional Master of Architecture degree from the Yale School of Architecture and a Professional Bachelor of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College, graduating Valedictorian from the BAC. Prior to returning to Architecture School, Grant worked in Boston for Ruhl Walker Architects, where he was project architect for several complex residential projects ranging from single family residences to large interior architecture projects within existing multifamily residential buildings. Grant also worked with Sasaki Associates of Watertown, with exposure to the broad range of disciplines and scales, from master planning cities, Landscape and ecological studies, campus work, and then as a team member with the joint venture between Sasaki and Mecanoo Architects from the Netherlands, on the new Boston City Schools Headquarters, which has just opened to broad acclaim, in the Roxbury Neighborhood of Boston. Before Boston, Grant has worked in multiple other cities and countries; the Southern US, primarily Alabama, London, England, freelance in Belize, beginning his career in his native New Zealand. Grant aims to design creative, resolved, elegant solutions, while drawing from a wide set of architectural and cultural influences and built precedents, ranging from the minimalist to warm hand crafted Pacific modern. Grant believes that each project must respond to its own location culturally and physically, and historically to reach its own full potential as a finely crafted complete project.
