About Grant Whitehead

I am a results-oriented professional with over 25 years of consulting experience, possessing a sound understanding of, and being proficient in, the application of hydrogeological theory and field techniques. I also have experience in the scientific field of wetland hydrogeology, having completed my graduate studies in this discipline. I have acted as Project Manager and/or Lead Hydrogeologist for numerous hydrogeological characterization studies, groundwater supply and protection evaluations, MECP Permit to Take Water applications and compliance studies, Source Water Protection reviews, and groundwater monitoring and hydrogeological impact investigations for municipal, commercial/industrial, renewable energy, and residential developments throughout Ontario, while concurrently overseeing field and office staff, managing project schedules and financials, and interacting directly with clients. My career experience has allowed me to become highly skilled in: the analysis and interpretation of aquifer performance testing data (i.e, pumping tests), unsaturated zone hydrogeological processes (including groundwater-surface water interactions), identifying trends in water quality, as well as performing pre- and post-development site and feature-based water balances, subsurface sewage disposal loading impact assessments, and groundwater dewatering evaluations, while specializing in applying these skills to advance approvals for various land development projects in Ontario (e.g, obtaining Zone Changes, Draft Plan, and Site Plan approvals). I hve also acted in the role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) and/or peer reviewer on multiple projects. Outside of Stantec, I am the co-founder / owner of Light House Specialized Programs (Kitchener, Ontario), a business offering a variety of day programs for individuals with special needs. Having a daughter diagnosed with Autism, I wanted to ensure that she has a place to go that allows her, as well as her peers, to be themselves while providing opportunities to participate and contribute to their community.
