About Granthika Chatterjee

Development strategist with 8+ years of experience designing and scaling impact-driven solutions across diverse sectors in emerging markets. While my on-ground experience has been rooted in India, my academic exposure at the London School of Economics, and the World Bank (for submission of Policy Papers towards completion of degree) sharpened my understanding of global development systems, deepening my interest in addressing cross-cutting challenges in LMICs worldwide. My work spans public health, gender-smart investing, climate resilience, and strengthening state capacity — all unified by a systems-thinking approach. I’ve collaborated extensively with governments, philanthropies, corporates, and civil society actors, convening partnerships and mobilizing coalitions to drive lasting change. I am particularly drawn to operating at the nexus of issues — where solving for climate or health challenges meet systemic reforms, or where innovation adoption meets impact investing — to craft integrated solutions to complex social challenges. Currently, I am leading a national governance reform project in partnership with India’s apex public policy think tank, anchoring data-driven interventions to enhance state capacity. Previously, I led urban climate initiatives tackling extreme heat, One Health, and low-carbon mobility. My journey into public health began in 2020 when, as an associate at Sattva, I pitched and went on to co-create our health practice — playing a founding role in shaping its vision, building teams, driving strategic bets, and conducting ecosystem-level research at the intersection of health innovation and catalytic capital. During the COVID-19 crisis, I worked closely with over five state governments to deploy localized responses — including community-based quarantine systems, drone-supported surveillance, expanded hospital infrastructure, and vaccination strategy support. I also co-led the development of a national oxygen deployment framework during the second wave, coordinating with logistics partners, global experts, and funders to accelerate supply chain responsiveness. My entry into the development sector was as a Teach For India Fellow, where I focused on foundational learning outcomes for 80+ Grade 5 and 6 students in a government school. I also founded Colourmanch, a platform that used art to teach 21st-century skills, which scaled across three cities during the fellowship.
