About Greg Capitolo

Greg Capitolo is President of the Himalayan Institute, a non-profit international humanitarian organization and a leader in the field of yoga, meditation, spirituality, and holistic health. In this role, Greg primarily oversees the creation, marketing and execution of weekend and longer-format Mission Programs offered each year at the Institute’s headquarters in Honesdale, PA, and on HI Online, the Institute’s online educational platform. Greg joined the Institute in 2006, serving initially as Director of Business Operations with oversight of all aspects of the Institute’s business operations including accounting and finance. Greg was appointed Treasurer of the Institute in 2008, and President in 2022. In 2015, Greg played an integral part in the creation of Yoga International, a new for-profit global streaming media organization formerly part of the Himalayan Institute. In his role as fractional CFO of Yoga International, Greg provides strategic direction to the executive management team and coordinates all aspects of accounting and finance including preparation of financial statements, audits and tax compliance as well as budgeting and longer range financial forecasts. Previous to joining the Himalayan Institute, Greg held several senior accounting, financial analysis and project management roles in the San Francisco Bay Area across several industries including manufacturing, healthcare, transportation logistics and enterprise software. A certified yoga teacher (E-RYT 500), Greg is also a faculty member of the Himalayan Institute and teaches weekly yoga classes as well as weekend seminars on yoga, meditation and holistic health. Greg is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, and attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA where he majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
